templing Definition

A process in joinery where small pieces of triangular wood are inserted into grooves on the surface of a table top to strengthen it and give it a decorative effect. Also, the grooves or slots in which these triangular pieces fit, along with the triangular pieces themselves, collectively known as the temple or templet.
