schizotypy Definition

A personality trait characterized by ideas, beliefs, and perceptions that are atypical and reflect a loose association of ideas, odd speech, and peculiar behavior or thinking that are observed in schizophrenia but are less extreme and not as rigidly fixed. It is considered a risk factor for developing schizophrenia or other psychotic disorders and can also be associated with creativity.
