In geometry, a polytope is a geometric object that exists in any number of dimensions and is composed of flat sides, or facets, which are themselves convex polytopes of lower dimensions. In two dimensions, a polytope is a polygon; in three dimensions, a polytope is a polyhedron; in four or more dimensions, the term is used to describe the higher-dimensional equivalents of a polygon and polyhedron.
