plauenite Definition

A rare mineral, an iron-magnesium pyroxene with the chemical formula (Ca,Mg,Fe)2Mg5Si8O22(OH)2. It is usually colorless or pale green to brown and was first described from Plauen, Saxony, Germany, where it was found in the mid-19th century.
