perveance Definition

A measure of the ease with which a gas can be compressed by an electrical discharge, often used in the context of electrical discharges and plasma physics. It is the reciprocal of the vacuum breakdown voltage for a given distance in an electrical discharge gap and is closely related to the Townsend discharge theory.
