Parenthes is a type of punctuation mark (the parentheses, () ) that is used to introduce an aside or an interruption in the flow of a sentence, to enclose words added as an afterthought, parenthesis, or explanation, and to indicate that the enclosed text should be regarded as a comment or as supplementary information, separate from the rest of the sentence.
