A mesophyte, which is a plant that grows under normal daytime conditions, with moderate water requirements, being intermediate between hydrophytes (water-loving plants) and xerophytes (drought-resistant plants). Mesophytons typically have well-developed root systems, broad or thin leaves, and can thrive in a wide variety of environments outside of extremely dry or wet conditions.
