kerrite Definition

A rare iron-manganese oxide mineral, named after New Zealand meteorologist W. G. KERR. It is a dark brown to black mineral with a distinctive honeycomb-like fracture surface and occurs as small, thin, pale brown needles or radiating groups of such needles.
