hieromartyr Definition

A hieromartyr is a term used in the Eastern Orthodox, Oriental Orthodox, and Eastern Catholic Churches to refer to a clergyman who has been a martyr, i.e., someone who has been killed for their religious beliefs or for refusing to renounce their faith in the face of persecution.
