Definition

A rare, barium-plumbous, sulfate mineral that is usually found in an oxidized zone of ore deposits; it has a formula of Ba2(PO4)(SO4) and crystallizes in the monoclinic system. It is a secondary mineral often found in oxidation zones of lead and zinc ores and sometimes in association with halite and other evaporite minerals. Its color ranges from colorless, green, to yellow and it is translucent to transparent. It forms tabular or prismatic crystals.
