Centiles (or percentiles) are measures that indicate at what percentage a score, size, or measurement is relative to a predefined reference distribution. For example, if a child is at the 50th centile for height, it means that the child is taller than 50% of children of the same age and gender, and shorter than 50% of children of the same age and gender.
