carcharodontosaurid Definition

Carcharodontosaurid is a family of large meat-eating theropod dinosaurs that lived during the Late Cretaceous period, about 113 to 93 million years ago. They were closely related to the famous Allosaurus and are characterized by their large size and possible presence in North America, Africa, and possibly South America during the Late Cretaceous.
