In Indian culture, particularly in Hinduism, a bhoot is a spirit or ghost. It refers to the inhabitation of the physical world by a spirit of a deceased human or other creature that has unfinished business, or has been wronged in life. Bhoots are often depicted as having dark or spectral appearances in mythology and folklore.
