asperite Definition

A mineral that is a hydrated aluminum silicate having the chemical formula Ca2Al2Si3O10·2H2O, usually composed of colorless, clear to white, or pale pink rhombohedral crystals; it is the name for a variety of calcite (a mineral composed of calcium carbonate) but can also refer to monoclinic white or transparent crystals, often found in geodes and intergrown with calcite and aragonite.
