Skraeling Definition

In Norse sagas and Icelandic literature, the term 'skraeling' originally referred to any native inhabitant of Iceland or Greenland, generally and most likely the Inuit, but later it came to mean any local Indigenous person, especially those encountered by Norse settlers in the Vinland region of North America during the Middle Ages.
