Definition

A legal principle that allows for parts of a contract, agreement, or law to be enforced or declared valid even if other parts are found to be invalid or unenforceable. The severability of a contract means that if one part of the contract is found to be illegal or void, the rest of the contract can still be valid and enforceable.
