The Ramesseum is an archaeological site located on the west bank of the Nile in ancient Thebes, now part of Luxor, Egypt. It is the ruins of a great palace of the 19th Dynasty pharaoh Rameses II, constructed around 1265 BCE. It served as his funerary temple and was a major center for the cult of the deified pharaoh and the famed Memnon statue.
