Khrushchev Definition

Nikita Khrushchev was a Soviet statesman who served as the leader of the Soviet Union from 1953 to 1964. He was the First Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union from 1953 to 1964, and Premier of the Soviet Union from 1958 to 1964. He was known for his role in the Cold War, his policy of de-Stalinization within the Soviet Union, and his significant rhetorical exchanges with Western leaders, particularly during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
