Arrhephoria Definition

In ancient Greek mythology, Arrhephoria referred to a girl who served in the temple of Athena, her duties included assisting in the completion of special weaving projects and the care of the statue of Athena. It also refers to a period of servitude and initiation for young girls into adulthood.
