Aposematism Definition

Aposematism is a form of warning signal which is used by toxic or distasteful animals and plants to advertise their inedibility, either by means of bright coloration, distinctive patterns, or other conspicuous features. It allows the animal to deter potential predators by making it obvious that the organism is dangerous or unpalatable.
