Aleutians Definition

A chain of more than 100 volcanic islands in the north Pacific Ocean, west of southern Alaska. The main islands have a combined area of 17,975 square miles (46,520 square kilometers) and a population of around 5,000 (as of the 2020 census). These islands are known for their diverse wildlife, rugged terrain, and historically significant military sites.
